The art of real life is why you want a portrait of a moment you couldn’t have scripted if you’d tried.

Your memories don’t need to be staged. I won't tell you what to do or how to stand, when to smile at your kids, or to lovingly gaze at your husband. You deserve to remember the moments that naturally happen when you’re together.

My clients (even the hesitant + skeptical ones) tell me this is one of the best investments they’ve ever made.

Your session is tailored just for you. Are you morning or afternoon people? Worried that your home is a little too lived in? That your living room is too small, too messy, too much? I promise you none of that is true.

Families constantly tell me that their favourite images are the ones taken in a tiny corner of their home or in bed while they’re still in pajamas, sleep-deprived with uncombed hair.

Because what matters is the moment.

What those families see when they look at their photos is the connection between them. It’s the biggest motivation behind what I do.

If you’re worried that your kids might not be on their best behaviour, I’m a pro at all kinds of meltdowns, breakdowns, and various other ‘downs. I’ve had many an unexpected surprise on shoots and know how to get it turned around. I once had a newborn session where the baby was just having a bad day, and her poor mom was completely stressed out because a crying, colicky baby isn’t what she planned on for the session. I put the camera down and listened to her—because I know how much new moms need that. We decided to end the session and rescheduled for a few weeks later, which resulted in photos she loved. At the end of the day, a memory has to be a good one!

Keeping things relaxed and going with the flow is what I do best.

It all begins with an email and a follow-up phone call with me where we’ll plan your session around what’s most meaningful to you.

Questions? Concerns? We'll talk all about it when you get in touch.

“Irina has been our family photographer for four years. She has captured my son and I since he was only 2 years old. I am so grateful for her photojournalistic style and her ability to capture real, authentic moments between me and the most important person in my life.”
